Frequently Asked Questions

Are medications used for concussion?

There is no medication that cures a concussion or speeds brain healing. Medications are used only to manage symptoms such as headache, nausea, sleep disturbances, or anxiety.

Pain relievers like acetaminophen are often recommended initially, while other medications may be used cautiously if symptoms persist. Some drugs can mask symptoms, so they must be used under medical guidance.

Medication should be just one part of a broader recovery plan that includes rest, activity modification, sleep support, and symptom monitoring
