Is neck strengthening helpful?
Neck strengthening may reduce concussion risk by improving head stability during impacts. Stronger neck muscles can decrease the acceleration forces transmitted to the brain.
This is particularly relevant in contact sports, where sudden collisions are common. Training programs that focus on neck strength and posture may offer protective benefits.
While neck strengthening does not eliminate concussion risk, it is a useful component of injury prevention strategies, especially when combined with proper technique and equipment.
