Frequently Asked Questions
Does cognitive rest help?
Cognitive rest involves reducing activities that strain the brain, such as prolonged screen time, reading, multitasking, or intense problem-solving. This is especially important in the early stages of recovery.
Limiting cognitive load helps prevent symptom flare-ups and mental fatigue. However, like physical rest, cognitive rest should not be prolonged unnecessarily.
Gradual reintroduction of mental activities—with breaks and accommodations—supports recovery and helps the brain adapt back to normal demands.
