Frequently Asked Questions
When can someone return to sports?
Return to sports should only occur after symptoms have fully resolved and medical clearance has been given. This process follows a stepwise progression, starting with light aerobic activity and gradually increasing intensity.
Each stage requires that the individual remain symptom-free before moving on. If symptoms return, activity should be reduced and recovery reassessed. Rushing back too soon increases the risk of prolonged symptoms or further injury.
This cautious approach protects the brain during its vulnerable recovery phase. Return-to-play decisions should always prioritize long-term brain health over short-term performance.
