Frequently Asked Questions

Can TBI cause headaches long-term?

Yes, long-term headaches are one of the most common lingering symptoms after TBI. These headaches may resemble migraines, tension-type headaches, or cervicogenic headaches related to neck injury.

Post-traumatic headaches can persist for months or even years, particularly after repeated injuries or inadequate early management. Stress, poor sleep, and overexertion can worsen headache frequency and intensity.

Treatment may include medication, physical therapy, stress management, and lifestyle adjustments. Addressing headache triggers and associated symptoms often leads to better long-term outcomes.
